The School District is asking to continue funding above that provided by the state to maintain the outstanding success of our students. These funds provide teachers and support staff with compensation levels competitive with neighboring districts. No tax increase is associated with this ballot item entitled “override.” It has been in place for over a decade and has been, and will be, the key to continued student success.
Our School District facilities have served our community well for the past three decades. Past bond funds have enabled the district to keep up with the accelerated population growth in the ‘90s.
The School District is asking for a new bond not to construct new facilities, but to undertake considerable maintenance that has been deferred for some time since the state funds normally provided for that purpose have not materialized.
Maintenance and improvements will include security, mechanical upgrades, communication infrastructure and turf replacement. Most of these items will be invisible to the eye but essential for maintaining the community’s facility investment.
The school bond and override as well as the road bond are needed to maintain our community’s outstanding quality of life. Please vote yes to all three.
