Rain chance increasing for weekend

The monsoon is still active in Arizona with the National Weather Service calling for an increase in humidity over the weekend, meaning an increase in thunderstorm activity.
There is a slight chance of afternoon and evening storms for Friday, Sept. 6. That will increase to a 40 percent chance of rain by Sunday through Monday.
Storms have the potential to bring high, damaging winds, lightning and locally heavy rain and flooding of wash crossings.
The forecast high temperature for Monday is 89, almost 20 degrees cooler than Wednesday and Thursday this week.
