The weather forecasters got this one right as the predicted storm brought well over an inch of rain overnight at all Flood Control District monitoring stations in Fountain Hills.
A rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive collected 1.70 inches overnight. Others around town ranged from 1.54 inches at Stoneridge Dam to 1.10 inches along McDowell Mountain Road just north of Fountain Hills.
The rain remains in the forecast as the storm system producing the moisture remains stationary off the west coast, according to the National Weather Service.

A rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive collected 1.70 inches overnight. Others around town ranged from 1.54 inches at Stoneridge Dam to 1.10 inches along McDowell Mountain Road just north of Fountain Hills.
The rain remains in the forecast as the storm system producing the moisture remains stationary off the west coast, according to the National Weather Service.
People are urged to use caution in approaching and crossing flooded washes. Turn around and go around.
