Forecasters called for rain all weekend but it was about 8 a.m. on Monday before the predicted rain finally arrived.
The rain was fairly steady for much of the morning in Fountain Hills with rainfall amounts up to .55-inch in the northwest corner of town near McDowell Mountain Park as of 3 p.m.
Other Maricopa County Flood Control District rain gauges around the town received amounts ranging from .28-inch in the northeast corner of town along McDowell Mountain Road. At Fire Station #1 at Palisades and Avenue of the Fountains there was also .28-inch collected. The rain gauge at The Times office on Laser Drive received about .50-inch.
