Rain forecast for weekend

A weather system from the Pacific may draw the last gasp of monsoon moisture from the south into Arizona this weekend.

The monsoon ends officially on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

This weekend however, a storm is expected to bring more rain to the state and Phoenix area. The National Weather Service predicts a 70 percent chance of rain on Saturday for Fountain Hills and temperatures are forecast to drop dramatically following the storm. The forecast high for Fountain Hills Monday and Tuesday is the mid-80s.
