Ralph Andre Jury Jr., 95, passed away on July 27, 2015 in Fountain Hills.
Ralph was born on Feb. 5, 1920 in Pensacola, Fla. His father was one of the original Navy test pilots. As a teenager, the family was stationed in Panama. The experience provided endless adventures for him and his friends in the jungle and swimming in the base pool.
He married Sue Dale in 1940. He served as a Navy bombardier in the Pacific Theatre during World War II. After the war, he began a career in the civil service at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego.
Ralph loved to fly and held a private pilot’s license after leaving the Navy. Ralph and Sue Dale raised three children -- Donna, Ralph and Marcy. Ralph became widowed in 2001. He moved to Fountain Hills in 2011 to live with his son Ralph and daughter-in-law Chris.
Ralph has five grandsons -- Mathew Saunders, Andy and John Jury, and Mark and Patrick Loveland. He also has five great-grandsons and one great-granddaughter.
Ralph was preceded in death by his sisters Mary Kuhn and Pauline Stokes. Special thanks to Jodie and everybody at Mountainside Assisted Living in Fountain Hills.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, Calif. Ralph will be missed by all.
