By now you received a notice from your mortgage holder that your escrow account has been re-calculated and that your monthly payment will go up. Mine went up $428 for the year. My insurance has not changed so it is all in taxes.

How could this 25 percent increase have happened? Do you remember getting a new property valuation from Bo Hoskins? He noted that the changes were due to tax cuts for business that shifted the burden to property owners so don’t blame the messenger. Did you even read it and understand the implications?

Now it comes home to roost. The Republican-controlled Legislature did an end run on all of us in plain sight while bragging about tax cuts. I voted for Democrats and I lost. You voted for Republicans and you lost the same as I did.

More good news. Gov Ducey has pledged tax cuts every year he is in office and the Legislature will back him up. Look for more “tax cuts” in next year’s escrow letter.

Vote the rascals out! If they are unopposed, just leave it blank.
