Record rainfall drenches Valley, FH

A sure sign of the wet weather here in Fountain Hills was the town street department crew out patching pot holes along Saguaro and Shea boulevards on Monday morning.

The rain began late Thursday, Nov. 21, and continued off and on into Sunday, Nov. 24, dumping well over two inches of rain across the community.

As record rainfall fell across the Valley the rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive had collected three inches of rainfall during the storm.

As record rainfall fell across the Valley the rain gauge outside The Times office on Laser Drive had collected three inches of rainfall during the storm.

Aside from the potholes, the town and local emergency agencies reported no significant incidents as a result of the rain.

The Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office reported a few minor traffic accidents that might be attributed to wet conditions.

Also, a homeless couple camped out along Ashbrook Wash in Golden Eagle Park called 911 when they became cold and frightened by the excessive rain early Friday morning.

The couple was cited for trespassing and the man was arrested on an outstanding warrant.
