The following are some of the property owners in North Heights who are members of the North Heights Property Owners Association (NHPOA). A recent ad in The Fountain Hills Times shows our organization’s membership (700-plus, including spouses) as being unanimously in support of the proposed new property tax increase of approximately 20 percent, with a potential increase of 2 percent each year following.
While some of our HOA residents may decide yes and some no, the decision to vote yes was made without our input and is inappropriate. We would like to state for the record that the residents of NHPOA were never approached, didn’t vote on the issue and didn’t discuss or receive information on the decision to vote yes on this tax increase.

It’s not our HOA residents’ desire to exert influence over other residents to vote yes, and we would like to have this error made public. In the future, individuals who want to publicly show their support or non-support should add their individual names to these types of full-page ads versus a blanket “yes” by any HOA. We would like The Fountain Hills Times to correct this situation by putting our letter in the next edition.
This letter is submitted by Steve and Mary Franken, Todd and Linda Schwaba, Don and Marsha Kenney, Dale and Harriet Larson, Tom and Darla Jacobs, Joe and Donna Venditto.
