Red Ribbon Week expands across district

Coalition encourages kids to live drug free

Red Ribbon Week is back and better than ever.

The Fountain Hills Protect Our Youth Coalition is putting on the substance abuse awareness event for the second year in a row, hoping to help local kids make good life choices. Red Ribbon Week was only held at Fountain Hills Middle School last year but spread into different other schools this year.

The coalition is hosting an “Awareness Walk” at McDowell Mountain Elementary School Monday, Oct. 23. Coalition volunteers will play music, hand out sunglasses and get the Falcon mascot to come out for a family event. It is also the first official coalition event at McDowell Mountain.
