Fearless Kitty Rescue, your Fountain Hills cat rescue volunteer organization, had a sudden refrigerator breakdown. You know how that happens, one day it works and the next day it doesn’t. It was a cat-tastrophy!

So, we put out a call for help through email and social media. The wonderful, caring residents of our town mobilized, asking friends, contacting neighbors, posting on numerous sites online to find us a gently used one.

Despite all these efforts, nothing was available. We started to despair until Sheila Bartnik, owner of Phantom Detailing, came to our “rescue.” She had tried to purchase a used one, but when that fell through, she didn’t stop. She went to the Home Depot and bought the rescue a brand new one.

But the kindness of the people here didn’t stop there. The rescue got a surprise offer from Art Tolis, owner of Snap Fitness, for an office-size refrigerator. We used to have one but monetary priorities kept us from replacing it.

The kitties were so overwhelmed by the generosity of these two individuals that the building shook with the thunderous purring that ensued. Sheila and Art, you are the cat’s meow!
