Renovation of Centennial Circle plaza in Fountain Hills complete

New 80-foot shade structure key feature of update

Fountain Hills Mayor Ginny Dickey recalled how she happened to attend a meeting of officials planning for the 2012 Centennial Celebration for Arizona Statehood.

Then serving as a Town Council member she brought back some ideas and found a great deal of enthusiasm to have the Town of Fountain Hills participate with a centennial project.

The idea was born to create a circular plaza in the area between the Community Center and the Library/Museum. It provided a place to display pieces of Fountain Hills’ public art collection, a landscaped area with benches and the unique idea to celebrate the Five-Cs of Arizona’s economic growth and vitality with monuments and plaques recognizing cattle, citrus, climate, copper and cotton.
