Republic Services, the company that provides curbside trash collection services in Fountain Hills, was before the Town Council requesting a rate increase along with its annual contract renewal on June 3.
The agreement with Allied Waste Transportation (dba Republic Services) executed in 2019, allowed for optional renewals with an agreed upon automatic 3.5% rate increase each year with the current contract to expire in January 2027.
Republic came to the town asking for an additional 10% increase for the coming year for a total of 14% combined. The new monthly rate would be $20.14 (compared to the current $17.67) through the 2026 calendar year.
