Rescue Pals in Fountain Hills recently said goodbye to its longest-held dogs, siblings Kino and Sophia, who were at Pals Inn Pet Resort for over three years before going to a family in Mesa who say the pair are the perfect dogs for their young daughter.
Kino (male) and Sophia (female) are mixed-breed siblings who came to Rescue Pals in 2020 from a partner organization in Phoenix. They were originally from Mexico.
“They were scared to death of everything. Nobody could get near them,” Susan Dawson said, co-founder of Rescue Pals. “It took Christina (Schaeken) and I a long time before they even trusted us. Then COVID hit and that really hurt us big time.”
