To the Town of Fountain Hills: The lights are so bright around Fountain Park that I can no longer see the stars at night when taking a walk around the lake.

You could’ve easily done every other light…. which means that you put in way too many lights and overspent taxpayers’ money on the project. Nice work on researching this! Great color choice as well! Military grey goes so well with our desert community.

We went from no lights to parking lot lights! Really! Who’s in charge here? At least admit you screwed up and correct the problem by using lower wattage bulbs. We do not need our park visible from outer-space or looking like a military landing strip!

I used to look forward to walks in the evening looking at the stars and now I only think of how I can dowse these lights that are way too bright. This is a travesty; I can read a book while walking around this park at night…it’s insane…and most definitely not needed.

Just a little ambient light while navigating the lake walk is all walkers need and the designers of the park ever intended. Please correct this problem and return our late night walks to something that works for the Fountain Hills lifestyle.

I think the town needs to reach out and see how others feel about this issue. Are the lights too bright around the lake? Speak up now and let your voice be heard loud and clear! If you’re not sure, take a walk around the lake after dusk and see for yourself. The lights are way too bright.
