Reverend Donald Kenneth Schrage passed away peacefully on Oct. 30, 2017.
He was born Oct. 23, 1947 to Fredrick and Helen Schrage in Rock Island, Ill. and he lived there until entering Concordia Theological in Springfield, Ill.
Following his ordination into the ministry Pastor Don served congregations in Bedford, Ind.; Louisville, Ky.; Mayer, Minn.; Salem Ill. and Fountain Hills.
He is survived by his wife, Marcia; sons, Jan Paul (Melisa) Schrage of Fountain Hills and Daniel (Ann) Schrage of Los Angeles; grandsons, Jack and Mark Schrage of Fountain Hills; brother, Richard (Pat) Schrage and sisters, Virginia (Jerry) Dusek of Iowa, Shirley (Michael) Smith of Moline, Ill. and Carolyn Pearson of Mesa; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pastor Don was richly blessed to serve the lord and those he touched throughout his 43 years of ministry.
A visitation will be held at Messenger Fountain Hills Mortuary on Thursday, Nov. 2 from 6 to 9 p.m. The memorial service will be held at JOY Christian Community Church at Saguaro and Palisades boulevards in Fountain Hills on Saturday, Nov. 4 at 11 a.m.
