Richard A. (Dick) Kocher of Fountain Hills passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2017. He was born in Akron, Ohio, June 23, 1923, and was raised in northeastern Ohio.

Richard and his wife Pearl retired to Fountain Hills in 1988 from Willoughby, Ohio, where he had practiced dentistry for 29 years.

Richard was a Second World War veteran, participating in the South Pacific Theater. He met Pearl soon after returning from service in the Army and they were married in December 1946.

Richard obtained a degree in dentistry from The Ohio State University in 1954. The couple settled in Willoughby, Ohio, where they worked and raised their family until retirement in 1984.

Richard had a lifelong passion for automobiles, and restored several antique models of various vintages over the years. Richard and Pearl toured extensively, developing a cherished network of friends from the hobby, many of who remained close for decades.

Dick was directly involved in the initiation of several car clubs and events, including the local Fountain Hills Cruise which occurs nearly every Sunday during the mild season. The couple also enjoyed playing cards, frequenting many local bridge tables in Fountain Hills.

Richard is survived by a daughter, Tina K. DiCillo (Greg), who lives in Willoughby; and a son, Richard D. Kocher of Tempe. There are three grandchildren, Michelle Kocevar (Dustin), Brian DiCillo, and Kenneth DiCillo, and two great grandchildren, Anthony and Paige Kocevar, all of whom live in Willoughby as well.

His wife Pearl passed away March 5, 2016.

Services will be performed at the National Memorial Cemetery of Arizona on Thursday, March 30 at 10 a.m.
