One of the goals of Vision 2035, besides preparing Rio Verde for the future, is to make sure there is a community vision and shared values and to preserve and enhance the culture which has been a cornerstone of Rio Verde’s success these past 50 years.
To achieve that goal, the boards of the Rio Verde Community Association (RVCA) and Rio Verde Country Club voted to jointly work on this objective and appointed Jill Arnold and Sue Ehinger to head up the Community Culture Work Group.

This leadership, along with group members Janet McCone and Scott Scherschligt have taken stock of the vision, values and culture that was reflective of the community’s past.
The group’s focus is on identifying appropriate refinements, if necessary, to an initial draft that was developed last winter. This included research to better understand statements that guide successful communities, to gain a better understanding of future generations, to gain insight into the challenges ahead and to prepare a SWOT (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats) analysis.
The work group report will be part of the survey and focus groups planned for this fall, which will help fine tune the final Vision, Values and Culture Statement. The statement will be presented to the RVCA and RVCC executive committees and then to the full boards. The final and approved statement will be included in the Vision 2035 Final Report to be released in the spring of 2024.
