There are eight streets on the list for pavement replacement in Rio Verde this summer, with the work to begin this week and the project taking about one month.
The streets getting the asphalt upgrade include Condor Court, Cordova Lane and Place, Horseshoe Bend, Gemmil Drive, Herron Lane, Indian Knoll Drive, Waxwing and Sevilla Lane.
The first couple of days of work this week will be devoted to preparing landscape and utilities.
The removal of the asphalt, grading and compaction will take place over the next few weeks between May 6 and May 23. The streets will remain open during this process, but there may be delays in getting a vehicle in or out. The work will begin daily at about 6 a.m.
The paving on Gemmil Drive, Heron Lane, Indian Knoll and Waxwing will begin on May 22. Horseshoe Bend is scheduled for May 23 with Codor Court, Cordova Lane and Sevilla Lane to be done on May 27.
The roads will be closed from 6 a.m. until 6 a.m. the following day for the paving.
May 27 and May 28 will be used to restore landscaping and raise utilities.
There will be no trash pick-up on the streets getting the new asphalt on May 21 and May 28.
Crack sealing will take place on White Wing Drive May 8 and May 9. Vado Court will be closed for about 10 days for concrete removal and replacement beginning May 6. Curbs on Bolero Bend and Forest Road will be replaced between May 6 and May 9.
Other streets will receive a coating of sealant and those are scheduled as follows:
Tuesday, May 27: Aloe Way, Flicker Drive, McDowell Mountain Drive (Buckskin to Pommel), Pommel Drive, Paseo Verde Drive and Quail Haven Drive.
Thursday, May 29: Buckskin Drive, Mescalero and Vado Court.
Friday, May 30: Abajo Drive, Poco Vista, McDowell Mountain Drive (Via Hermosa to the east end of Buckskin) and Reata Lane.
Saturday, May 31: Corto Lane, Del Ray Circle, Diabo Lane, Desoto Lane, Leather Lane, Stirrup Lane cul de sac, Four Peaks Place, Parada Circle, Sierra Verada, Sierra Vista and Via Laguna.
These streets are to be closed from 6 a.m. the day of the scheduled work until 6 a.m. the following day.
June 1 is a make-up day to catch up on any work not completed by that time.
Anyone who is planning to be in Rio Verde and lives on one of the designated streets is asked to let the RVCA office know so they can be notify of any last-minute schedule change.
The schedule is subject to change due to weather conditions or other situations beyond normal control.
