Fountain Hills residents will be affected by several ongoing road construction projects for up to the next year and a half. The Times will keep you updated on the latest information regarding these projects.

Shea Boulevard: Crews are using equipment to extend drainage culverts along Shea between Saguaro Boulevard and Technology Drive. Eastbound traffic has also been reduced to one lane between Monterey Drive and Kern Plaza. Motorists should use caution driving through the area between the Beeline Highway and Technology Drive. Duration: June 2015.

Beeline Highway: As work continues on the new safety improvement project along State Route 87 approximately 14 miles south of the SR 188 junction, the highway is narrowed to a single lane in both directions during the day between mileposts 227 and 236. Work hours are Monday through Thursday from 6 a.m. to 5 p.m. Drivers need to be aware of alternating daytime single-lane restrictions and some shoulder closures at milepost 228. Minimal delays are expected. Duration: Spring 2015.

There is a major widening project on the Loop 101 Freeway in Scottsdale between Shea Boulevard and the Loop 202 interchange in the Tempe/Mesa area. Use caution driving in the area. Duration: 2016.

ADOT has begun another widening project on the Loop 202 Red Mountain Freeway in Mesa. The scope of the work is between the Loop 101 interchange in the Tempe/Mesa area and Broadway Road in East Mesa. Use caution driving in the area. Duration: 2016.
