Two male suspects robbed the Subway sandwich shop on Shea Boulevard near closing time on Thursday, Oct. 12, according to the Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office.

Two female employees were going through a closing routine, with one of them in the rear bathroom when the two men approached. Both had their faces covered with bandanas.

One suspect stayed outside the door while the second entered the store and demanded money. The employee told deputies she did not resist and complied with the order.

The woman went to the door and locked it as the two suspects walked north, away from the door. She told deputies she did not see a vehicle.

After the suspects left, the woman went to the bathroom where the second employee was and they locked themselves in there calling, 911 from the bathroom.
