It’s election season and we here at The Times are encouraging everyone to get out and have their vote be counted.
Fountain Hills is in a transitional period, the direction of which will be largely guided by the men and women who are chosen to represent the citizens of Fountain Hills on the Town Council. With three Council seats and the position of mayor up for grabs, this could be one of the most important elections in the town’s history.
Based on the letters we’re receiving, quite a few of our readers are as passionate as we are about the importance of voting. Whether or not you agree with their chosen candidates or opinions on big topics, you can’t really argue with the single message that unites them all: The only way you’ll have a say in any of this is if you get out there and vote.

You will find a helpful reminder concerning election registration deadlines on page A1 of this week’s paper, full of important dates and a little explanation for how the process works. Remember that, if you aren’t set up to receive an early ballot in the mail, you can still drop by Town Hall beginning Monday, Aug. 8, to get the ball rolling.
Over the past couple of weeks, we’ve run a series posing questions to candidates concerning many of the big issues facing Fountain Hills. This series will continue leading right up to the election, along with our coverage of the various forums being hosted around town.
Get to know your candidates, see what they say about the topics that are most important to you, then remember to cast your ballot when the time comes.
