Sad reminder

We are all saddened with the events that occurred recently at the Palisades and Saguaro intersection. I received the news from various people from around the Valley that knew that I lived in Fountain Hills.

It is a sad reminder that all of our days are precious and limited. In fact, during my sales meeting I pointed out to my staff that you should always be prepared if something happens to you and that what happened that day should be a reminder that a simple task or situation can sometimes be life threatening or ending.

As if the town doesn’t already have more on its plate, the intersection at Saguaro and Avenue of the Fountains should have been re-engineered into a roundabout while they were redoing the medians on the avenue. They could have put a nice water fountain feature in the middle and it would have slowed down all of the traffic and created safer zones for pedestrians.

In the interim, the city might look at bollards at the pedestrian crossings to protect pedestrians crossing. Everyone have good Easter and hug your loved one a little tighter.
