An irresistible force and an immovable object. How would you bet?
Based on those words alone a decision with assurance cannot be made, it is a self-evident balance. So what shifts the decision to one with assurance?
Carefully note: It must be something in addition to those words. But what? Time is a good guess, but is insufficient, for over time it remains a self-evident balance.

Something must be wrong with those initial words. They imply a perfection to the irresistible force and also a perfection to the immovable object. In human endeavors there is no such thing as perfection. So the perfect irresistible force and perfect immovable object are impossibilities.
Zimmerman is alive and Martin is dead, “sadly” the confrontation occurred. If both would have retreated, thus each admitting their own imperfection, while adding discretion to the balance, the outcome would assuredly be different.
Both retreating is a perfection of sorts and tending to be God-like.
