Safety concerns addressed with new walkway

Complements recreation work

Contractors are wrapping up construction work to the rear of the Plaza FountainSide adjacent to Fountain Park that has taken most of the summer.

The final stage of the improvements was replacing sections of the concrete walkway/promenade to the rear of the Plaza FountainSide. That walkway had experienced significant damage from tree roots undermining the sidewalk and buckling and cracking the concrete. The area has been posted for some time as a safety hazard for pedestrians.

The effort to make the repairs began as a joint effort between the plaza ownership and the Town of Fountain Hills and was done in conjunction with the town having a large picnic area constructed adjacent to the Splash Pad.
