Did you read the front page of The Fountain Hills Times last week “Public safety fee coming?” If not, you should. The idea of a “public safety assessment” was brought up at a Town Council meeting.
We live in a beautiful town. We live in a beautiful state. I’ve heard it called Paradise. But our little Paradise is in trouble and needs a bit of help. Some of us live here year round...I have many friends that leave to escape the heat and visit family.
But they leave with the assurance that if their house is on fire or broken into they are taken care of. And yet they do not directly pay for those services on a year-round basis. Why not, you ask...good question.

Perhaps this question should be revisited since “We are facing a deficit next year…” If all of us would pay a set fee, per parcel, they tell me this would avoid shutting down parks and who knows what else. You can only cut so much when you have to increase intake.
Something to think about while you are enjoying life in Paradise. Remember the quote “There’s no such thing as a free lunch.” I’m just saying…
