We have read multiple times the last couple of weeks in The Times that large trucks hauling dirt/rocks to and from construction sites are not using Saguaro Boulevard because of the recent reconstruction work done on Saguaro and because of the barricades at the wash.
That is simply not the case. Large trucks (semi cab) are using Saguaro Boulevard (coming from Fountain Hills Boulevard) on a daily basis, sometimes even pulling a second trailer. The barricades and closed lane at the wash barely slow them down. As residents of North Saguaro Boulevard we see, hear and feel these large trucks daily.
If the trucking companies (we have seen multiple names on the trucks) were told not to use Saguaro, why is that not being enforced?

We had a recent experience with a town official making statements that simply aren’t true (that striping width not matching signs that had been on the curb for 15 years was not a mistake, without even looking at the situation, as well as other distortions during the work on Saguaro), and are wondering if this is another example of words having no relation to reality?
If these large trucks are not supposed to be using Saguaro Boulevard, who is holding them accountable?
Editor’s note: Saguaro Boulevard remains a designated truck route and may be used. The alternate route along Palisades is specific to the Adero Canyon project.
