The first layer of new asphalt went down on Saguaro Boulevard today, a highlight in the years of effort to upgrade the 40-year-old pavement on a major Fountain Hills thoroughfare.
Crews from Nesbitt Contracting rolled out the asphalt on the southbound lanes from Fountain Hills Boulevard to Hamilton Drive.
Meanwhile on the Shea Boulevard side of town crews were breaking out old median curbing and pouring new curb and gutter at the intersection with Saguaro.

The first layer of new asphalt went down on Saguaro Boulevard today, a highlight in the years of effort to upgrade the 40-year-old pavement on a major Fountain Hills thoroughfare.
Crews from Nesbitt Contracting rolled out the asphalt on the southbound lanes from Fountain Hills Boulevard to Hamilton Drive.
Meanwhile on the Shea Boulevard side of town crews were breaking out old median curbing and pouring new curb and gutter at the intersection with Saguaro.
Sheriff's deputies have responded to several, mostly minor, accidents along Saguaro and officials are reminding motorists to use extreme caution and patience when driving through the construction zone. Use alternate routes to avoid frustration.
