Construction crews are expected to begin setting barricades for the start of the Saguaro Boulevard reconstruction project by the end of this week.
Nesbitt Contracting is the contractor for the Saguaro work. The company is also the contractor for the ongoing Shea Boulevard work.
Nesbitt is planning to start work at the north end of the project, at Fountain Hills Boulevard and Saguaro. The plan is to close one half of the roadway and maintain traffic with one lane each direction on the other side.

Motorists who use Saguaro can expect delays with restrictions and reduced speed in the work zone. Be alert to changes in temporary traffic signs and flag persons.
Access will be maintained for residents, businesses and emergency vehicles.
The project is scheduled to last into October with crews working from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. The hours may change for seasonal adjustments. Some evening and weekend work may be scheduled.
The work planned includes removal and reconstruction of the asphalt pavement between Trevino Drive and Fountain Hills Boulevard, replacement of curbs including the median curb and sidewalk to meet ADA specifications, installing storm drains, catch basins and landscaping, modifying the intersection at Avenue of the Fountains and replacing the traffic signal at Saguaro and Palisades/Panorama at the north end of Fountain Park.
Regular updates on the project, as well as contact information are available on the project website, www.saguaroboulevard.com.
