Based on last week’s letters, there seem to be some people who believe that God disapproves of same-sex marriage.
I suspect that God is much too busy managing his huge universe, with its billions of galaxies and countless billions of stars, to be concerned about how we here on earth deal with our personal and family relationships.
That’s why he sent us the Ten Commandments, the Golden Rule and the teachings of Christ to deal with those issues.

Jesus was pretty consistent in his teachings of tolerance for all. You know, “Do unto others....”
Forty years ago many of these same individuals and some of the same churches who describe marriage between two people of the same sex as sexual perversion also found the idea of a marriage between a person with black skin and one with white skin to be equally unacceptable. Maybe they still do.
Having said that, however, I must agree with those, like Pastor Don Lawrence, who don’t believe that we need a local ordinance which mandates enforced tolerance. After all, the 14th Amendment trumps everything in that category.
