Sanitary board

Did you notice recently that two board members of the Sanitary District are up for reelection on Nov. 7 and it seems to me that two contenders for these seats have been put on the ballot with what appears to be encouragement by Town Councilman Art Tolis?

The two challengers have stated to The Times that, if elected, they would improve the lake water and the town park. News flash: The sanitary district has nothing to do with the town’s lake water or town park.

What I think is really going on here is that Councilman Tolis needs a source of clean potable water for his lagoon and park and would like the Sanitary District, a Maricopa County agency (not Fountain Hills), to pay for and build a $29 million reverse osmosis plant to provide the required quality of free water the lagoon needs, else it will be purchased daily from EPCOR. Can you imagine the costs EPCOR would have to charge?

I found this website to be chock-full of critical information: fhsd2017.com. This is great!

On Nov. 7, vote for the Sanitary District’s incumbents, Thomas Reski and Gregg Dudash, to carry on the fiscal responsibilities we deserve and have seen from these board members over the past 16 years. I’m going to vote for them – absolutely, for sure! They have already said no to the reverse osmosis plant idea. I for one do not wish to see my Sanitary District bill quadruple (or more) in order to pay for the water in Art’s lagoon.
