The first Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board meeting of the 2017-18 academic year boasts a light agenda, with Superintendent Dr. Patrick Sweeney welcoming folks with opening comments at 6:30 p.m. tonight, Aug. 9, in the District Learning Center.
The sole item on the discussion agenda is an altered version of the intergovernmental agreement (IGA) between the local District and the East Valley Institute of Technology (EVIT).
According to the background information, the original IGA for this year was approved back in February, but revisions needed to be made to include the lease agreement with EVIT and their satellite campus now set up at the former Four Peaks Elementary School site.

The Arizona School Board Association Delegate Assembly is on the horizon, so the board will appoint a delegate and alternate delegate to represent FHUSD during this meeting.
The only other action item on tonight’s agenda is the possible approval of a new job description for a central services specialist.
According to the proposed job description, the central services specialist will process payroll and assist the HR director with employee benefits and the like. Supervision of this position will be shared by the finance and HR departments.
