The Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board unanimously authorized a capital override election to be held this November.
After several weeks of discussion, the board opted to authorize the override election which, if passed by voters, would provide a secondary tax levy to pay for the district’s capital needs that cannot be met by the district’s budget.
This would not be new tax dollars, however, but rather a continuation of those approved by local voters in previous elections.

After several weeks of discussion, the board opted to authorize the override election which, if passed by voters, would provide a secondary tax levy to pay for the district’s capital needs that cannot be met by the district’s budget.
This would not be new tax dollars, however, but rather a continuation of those approved by local voters in previous elections.
Now that the board has approved calling for the election, the next step will likely be to reconvene the superintendent’s bond/capital advisory committee to create a proper outline for the override, giving voters a better idea of what, exactly, they will be considering come November.
