In December, three of the five seats on the Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board will become open as Judith Rutkowski, Wendy Barnard and Board President Edith Stock’s terms expire.
The deadline for candidates wishing to run for the FHUSD school board to submit their petition signatures to the Office of the Maricopa School Superintendent was Aug. 8. Three candidates filed paperwork for the three open seats, eliminating the need for an election.
Both Rutkowski and Barnard submitted their paperwork to continue serving on the board but Stock has elected not to return to the school board.
