School Board meets Wednesday

It looks like this evening’s meeting for the Fountain Hills Unified School District Governing Board will be short and sweet, with only a couple of items joining the usual business of checking out enrollment figures, site council minutes, the personnel report, etc.

First up, the Board will consider a DECA Western Region Leadership Conference for local students. This event is for members of the high school organization and will be held in Seattle, Wash., from Nov. 17-20.

While the DECA trip is only a discussion item at this time, the Board will tonight vote on another extracurricular trip, this one planned for the eighth grade Earthquest Trip to YMCA’s Camp Surf in Imperial Beach, Calif., from April 26-28, 2017.

The final order of business will be the possible approval of Smartschools as a sole source provider for FHUSD for the service of providing retirement options for localteachers.
