School board OKs bus driver raises in Fountain Hills

Bus driver positions are tough to fill.

That’s why Fountain Hills Unified School District Superintendent Cain Jagodzinski asked the Governing Board to approve a pay raise for drivers.

The board agreed, unanimously approving a raise at its Aug. 6 meeting. Officially, commercial driver’s license positions will be paid from a “revised grade E” on the district’s classified salary schedule, which starts new hires with no experience at $23.36 per hour. Drivers at the “Step 7” other end of the experience spectrum, with 10 or more years driving, will make $28.46 per hour.
