Also joining the Fountain Hills district is David “DJ” Graham as Fountain Hills High School’s new assistant principal.
In the discussion portion of the meeting the board talked about the renewal of the districts contract with Maricopa County Community Colleges. The agreement between the two educational institutions allows FHHS to offer dual enrollment courses to its students. The contract remains unchanged and dual enrollment classes offered in the past will still be available.
In the action part of last Wednesday’s meeting the board approved the renewal of the district food service contract with Sodexo. The renewal comes with 10 cents increase to lunch’s at all three schools in the district.
The price of lunches will continue to rise by 10 cents, at the request of the Arizona Department of Education, until the price is equal with the district free/reduced reimbursement rate of $3.31.
The School Board also approved the budget for the 2018-19 fiscal year after a presentation from Dr. Allen. A breakdown of the budget will be included in next week’s edition of The Times.
