School choice

Arizona has several options when it comes to educating our children; charter, home school, private school and tutoring among them.

Utilizing Governor Ducey’s new policy of the money follows the student, $7,000 is available from the state to be used by parents to pay for a better option for their child. Our state is a leader in school choice, thank goodness, because what is currently coming out of the government schools is failing. Test scores show below grade level outcomes in both math and reading. If you can’t read or add you will never be successful.

I would urge every parent to consider what is best for their child and utilize one of these options if you are not satisfied with what is being taught in your local school. And don’t be fooled when the education “professionals” assure you there is none of that CRT stuff being taught in the schools. It is no longer a standalone subject, but it is integrated into all subjects, from kindergarten on up. Insist on seeing what your child is learning, look over assignments and, if possible, go and monitor the classroom and teacher in person.
