I was confused by Ginny Dickey’s response to The Times questions to the candidates, when she wrote that improving schools was a top need. Apparently Ginny Dickey doesn’t include student safety in the category of student needs.
I say that because Dickey was one of several protestors, including pro-illegal immigration activist Randy Parraz, who several years ago protested the Sheriff’s SWAT team using the closed Four Peaks School for training exercises to prepare deputies and posse members to deal with a crazed shooter in one of our schools.
While deputies and volunteer posse members gave of their time to prepare to place their lives on the line to protect our children, Dickey and Parraz picketed outside in opposition.

Why would Ginny Dickey oppose training our police to protect our children against attack by deranged and armed school shooters? That is something to think about when you cast your ballot on Election Day.
Personally, my vote is going to our current mayor, Linda Kavanagh, who supports law enforcement and public safety.
