As a final reminder, Arizona State School Tax Credit donations must be submitted before the deadline runs out on Dec. 31.
The Fountain Hills Unified School District will have a last-minute option for those who wish to support their local schools with a tax credit donation.
The FHUSD office and the Fountain Hills High School office will be open during special hours on Tuesday, Dec. 31.
The district office will be open from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. while the high school front office will be open from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.
The Fountain Hills Charter School will also make itself available for tax credit donations through winter break.
Principal Karyn Miller invites anyone wishing to make a donation to contact the school at 837-0046 during winter break and leave a message with the school. Someone from FHCS will get back to the caller to set up a delivery/pick-up time for those last-minute donations.
Those who wish to contribute may make out a check for $400 if married and filing jointly or $200 if single or head of the household, or $150 if married and filing separately.
Tax credit donations can be made generically or a specific school, program, activity, club, etc. may be identified, ensuring every penny goes exactly where the donation is intended. Just fill out the intended recipient (Ex: “Field trips”) in the memo line.
The taxpayer then receives a dollar-for-dollar tax credit from the state of Arizona. If a person owes no taxes, a credit may be carried over for up to five years.
