What a difference a year makes. Our local PAC is having an identity crisis.
Less than two years ago, it full-throatily supported Joe Arpaio for mayor. He lost. And now, although he's running for mayor, yet again, now the PAC wants Gerry Friedel. Wonder why? Oh wait, they say “it’s his turn.” Really? Ask Joe...
Two years ago, it fully supported Brenda Kalivianakis for council, and she won. But they don't like her anymore, she’s too independent-minded for the good of the PAC.

During the same time, they supported Libby Settle for the school board. She since resigned. So much for that experiment.
You see, the ROT PAC seems to only support its favorite candidates if they adhere to something special. Maybe sealed with a handshake? Their support demands conformity to the PAC code, which seemingly – when you see what the PAC supports – it's a code that can be encapsulated as “Citizens Against Virtually Everything," or CAVE people. They are not solution based.
ROT is a microcosm of our nation’s House of Representatives. At least they passed bills; 27 of them in 2023.
