Scottsdale Civil War Roundtable proudly presents James Conroy discussing “The Hampton Roads Conference,” where President Abraham Lincoln and Confederate Vice-President Alexander Stephens conducted the only direct peace negotiations of the Civil War.

Conroy, a practicing attorney, is the author of Our One Common Country.  His extensive research allows him to shed light on the conference and the intrigue and plotting, North and South, needed to make it happen in the first place over the objections of many on both sides.

The program is on Tuesday February 19, 2019 at the Scottsdale Civic Center Library, 3839 N. Drinkwater Blvd.  Doors open at 4:30, program begins at 5:45 pm.  Everyone welcome.
