I recently wrote promoting Fountain Hills to host a show similar to the Loveland, Colorado, Art in the Park and Sculpture in the Park Bronze Show. Our Town Council should invest a little time and research for this type of show. Why? Here is the results of the Loveland show for 2017:
Altogether, Sculpture in the Park had a total of $1.5 million in sculpture sales as of Monday and there are still a few post-show transactions possible. Ticket sales, catalog sales and sponsorship brought the total up to $1.7 million. Artists receive two-thirds of their sales with the final third, admission sales and all funds raised during the silent auction going to the Loveland High Plains Art Council.
This does not include the impact on local sales taxes received or monies spent by the attendees of the events. Fountain Hills could easily duplicate a show of this kind and generate funds for our town.
