Second Amendment

Ognjen Glavonic directed his debut film, “The Load,” in 2018, available at Fountain Hills Library. The film and its accompanying documentary bear witness to the tragedy of the massacre in Kosovo, 1999.

We should pause in remembrance and ask ourselves why our forefathers saw fit to write the Second Amendment to our Constitution. “A well regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right of the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed.”

If today’s myopic leaders dismantle Second Amendment protections, they will have endangered our future. And those presumptions of today, dismissing our forefathers’ reasoning, will assuredly result in tragedy for us tomorrow. “Forewarned is fore armed.”
