Senator Kavanagh prepares for new session

State legislature opens Jan. 8

State Senator John Kavanagh, Republican of Fountain Hills, is gearing up for a new session of the Arizona Legislature which begins Monday, Jan. 8.

Kavanagh is entering his 18 years as a legislator, having gone between the Senate and the House of Representatives.

There may be challenges with a legislative agenda with the division between the majority Republican legislature and Democrat Governor Katie Hobbs, according to Kavanagh. However, he said the last session went unexpectedly smoothly.
