Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, Jan. 16, through Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Thursday, Jan. 16

*A resident of the 15000 block of Lost Arrow Drive reported that an unknown subject contacted the victim by phone and posed as a federal law enforcement officer in an attempt to defraud the victim out of a large sum of money.

Several vehicle burglaries reported in Fountain Hills

Jan. 16 through Jan. 22

Maricopa County Sheriff’s Office District 7 substation in Fountain Hills is reporting deputies responded to the following calls during the week from Thursday, Jan. 16, through Wednesday, Jan. 22.

Thursday, Jan. 16

*A resident of the 15000 block of Lost Arrow Drive reported that an unknown subject contacted the victim by phone and posed as a federal law enforcement officer in an attempt to defraud the victim out of a large sum of money.

*Deputies made a traffic stop for criminal speed with a motorist reportedly traveling 57miles per hour where the speed limit is 30 at El Pueblo Boulevard and El Sobrante Avenue. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*Deputies responded to the 9000 block of Horizon Trail where it was reported that a construction crew supervisor assaulted a postal carrier after being asked to move a vehicle that was blocking a mailbox.

Friday, Jan. 17

*A resident of the 17000 block of Baca Drive reported that an unknown subject damaged a retaining wall at a residence with a vehicle then left the area without notifying the owner of the property.

Saturday, Jan. 18

*A resident of the 10000 block of Nicklaus Drive reported that an unknown subject entered an unlocked vehicle that was parked at a residence and stole items from the vehicle valued at approximately $600.

*A resident of the 13000 block of El Pueblo Blvd. reported that an unknown subject entered the backyard of a residence without permission then left a short time later.

*A resident of the 17000 block of Aloe Drive reported that an unknown subject stole a package from the patio area of a residence. The victim is not willing to aid in prosecution.

*A resident of the 14000 block of Calle Del Oro reported that an unknown subject damaged the complainant’s mailbox causing it to fall over on the ground.

Sunday, Jan. 19

*Deputies made a traffic stop on Saguaro Boulevard at Ledferd Lane. According to deputies, the driver was stopped for criminal speed traveling 66 miles per hour where the speed limit is 35. The driver was issued a criminal citation.

*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Manzanita Lane where a trespassing and criminal damage domestic violence incident was reported.

*A resident of the 16000 block of Trevino Drive reported that an unknown subject burglarized a vehicle that was parked at a residence.

Monday, Jan. 20

*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. where it was reported that an off-duty police officer’s unmarked police vehicle was burglarized by an unknown subject while parked at a residence.

Tuesday, Jan. 21

*A resident of the 17000 block of El Lago Blvd. reported that an unknown vehicle struck a legally parked vehicle then fled the area without exchanging information.

*Deputies responded to the 13000 block of Fountain Hills Blvd. where it was reported that a driver accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake pedal causing their vehicle to strike a retaining wall at a commercial plaza. The driver called deputies and reported the incident.

*Deputies responded to Kim and Richwood drives for a reported traffic collision. Deputies report that a driver swerved while traveling on a residential street to avoid hitting an animal that entered the roadway. In doing so, the driver struck a mailbox and several parked vehicles in the driveway of a residence.

*A resident of the 12000 block of Chama Drive reported that an unknown subject contacted the victim via telephone as part of a fraudulent scheme. This resulted in the victim’s loss of approximately $8,000.

Wednesday, Jan. 22

*A resident of the 15000 block of Mustang Drive reported that an unknown subject burglarized a vehicle that was parked at a residence.
