What is happening to Pam Aister is disgusting and shameful. I was student who attended the Fountain Hills school system for 12 years and I had my share of indifferent, lazy educators. Pam Aister is a beacon of light in a sea of mediocre teaching. Her concern for her students is not only inspiring, but it helps to rekindle a love of learning for many children.
During my time at McDowell Mountain parents were fighting to get their children into Pam Aister’s class. My own mother tried to have me transferred into her class. The principal told my mother that if she honored every request for a student to be in Mrs. Aister’s class the entire grade would be in there.
So, I had the pleasure of her instruction for one hour a day in “reading.” I saw her randomly over 10 years later and Mrs. Aister not only knew me on sight, but remembered details about my time with her. All that from one hour a day for one school year.

I was not surprised at all that such an excellent teacher would stand up against the bullying of a student. What is disgraceful is the actions taken against her. The word of students caught in the act of mentally abusing another student taken over the word of a proven teacher is ridiculous.
Thank you to Dr. Wright for speaking out against this nonsense. As for the rest of the School Board, you are an embarrassment to your position and to the town of Fountain Hills.
Parents of students, if you are not outraged enough to take action, then you are not only losing an amazing educator, you are also teaching your children that bullying is not only acceptable, but rewarding. As my grandmother would say, “Shame on you.”
