The older I get the more I seem to turn to the obituaries in The Times to see who God has called home.
Today’s list includes a woman whose history in Fountain Hills has earned more than a prayer and remembrance.
Evelyn Breting was one of those special Fountain Hills people who were more than just a friend. She spent much of her “retired” years making sure we enjoyed the quality of life we looked for when we chose Fountain Hills as our home.

From her small front office in the original Community Center (now the Community Theater building) she housed every civic and political organization in town. With help from her husband Ken, the chairs and tables were always in place for the next meeting.
We who have called Fountain Hills home for several decades will always be thankful we had Evelyn to help us enjoy life in our new “home town.”
