Prep work for the widening of Shea Boulevard is scheduled to begin on or about Friday, Feb. 6, according to a press release.
The town will be widening Shea Boulevard from two lanes to three between Palisades Boulevard and Fountain Hills Boulevard. Crews will start by restriping the roadway and shifting eastbound traffic to two lanes prior to Palisades Boulevard before its existing configuration. As a result and for crew safety, speed limited will be reduced from 50 mph to 40 and motorists are asked to remain alert for working construction workers.
The eastbound lanes of travel will remain open for the majority of construction, the release says, while some temporary right-lane closures will be needed for final grading and paving of the third lane.
