The Overlook area on Shea Boulevard just west of Palisades Boulevard will be closed to traffic beginning Monday, June 5, through July 1.
The site is being closed to allow for repairs due to erosion damage and guardrail improvements.
A couple of strong storms hit the area last summer, dumping a couple of inches each over a short period of time. The result was erosion washing away a portion of the slope.

Interim Public Works Director Justin Weldy said the work will entail curbing to better channel runoff to a specific drain site. He also said the guardrail will be replaced with an all steel safety rail.
The Overlook closure will be in effect 24-hours per day. There should be no impact on Shea Boulevard traffic.
At a meeting early in May the Town Council approved a $250,000 contract with Vincon Engineering Construction for right of way improvements. The contract includes $50,000 for this project with the remaining money to be spent in four additional renewal terms.
Projects for future years will be identified later.
